After seven years on Rosebirch’s shop floor, David Connor has a new role.

Following many years as a time-served bench joiner and cabinet maker, David is now Rosebirch’s project estimator. The role was created as the business grows and more new opportunities come in, and to enable MD Stephen Flynn to share the load and concentrate on other aspects of the business.

David, who did particularly well to land the role, which was advertised externally as well as internally, is excited to be off the shop floor and carving himself a new career at the age of 61!

In his previous jobs, David ran a small company for seven years and held management positions in manufacturing and production, meaning he is getting to utilise the skills and knowledge gleaned over the years. He said:

“The role is very busy but that doesn’t phase me – I am relishing getting to grips with the responsibilities, making a difference to our ever-growing company.”

Outside of work David, who lives in Gateshead, send time with his family and grandchildren and is a season ticket holder for Newcastle United.
